Hello, It's been a rather hectic week for me so far as I haven't had time to do an earlier post.  The week has been spent finishing a couple of larger projects, working on Homo Erectus feet plus prepping the studio for a film shoot.

Unfortunately, I can't get into detail about the film shoot at the moment but I'll post about it soon.

In the meantime, I've gone back to working on Hyper Realistic Reconstructed Sculpture #5 and Hyper Realistic Reconstructed Figure#1 otherwise known as LTB. I've been focusing my attention on the feet of LTB as this was barely sketched out before so I thought it was necessary at this time to get this part of his anatomy "caught up"  I've been trying to push these two sculptures further along as they're both close to the finishing stages.

Finally, I'll be back next week with studio updates and the introduction of the final character in my sculpture series of reconstructed busts.
Have a great weekend. Cheers!

Hyper Realistic Reconstructed Sculpture # 5 is Back!

Over the past few months, I've been thinking about making changes to #5 Hyper Realistic Reconstructed Sculpture. This clay sculpture model was pretty much completed over a year ago but at the time, I had a few reservations about this piece. I felt that some changes were needed but I wasn't sure how to proceed.

Recently, I had a chance to reevaluate this sculpture and decided that some minor changes were needed to the clay specifically, minor adjustments to the shoulders, back and skin texture.

I'll be publishing new updates for this piece as they become available so in the meantime I'm working on some new moulds and spending some time on  Lake Turkana Boy. Remember him? There will be some new stuff to report on later next week
Finally, it's the end of the week so I want to wish all my visitors, a great weekend. Cheers!

I began this project mid August 2012 and finished yesterday October 12, 2012. The construction of this model was pretty quick compared to some of the others in this series. I guess that's the way things go.
Anyway, this model will be set aside for a time before it's moulded.
Finally, I'll be doing some updates on other studio projects early next week. So stay tuned.
Take care,have a great day!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. In Canada we are celebrating Thanksgiving.so I would like to pass on my best wishes to all celebrating in this country.

Now down to business. Over the past week, I've been putting extra time applying the skin texture to my current sculpture project RM. In this post, I've done some detail shots by increasing the contrast in the photos themselves in order for the visitor to see the skin texture more clearly.

Although, it may appear that the texture stage is complete,it isn't because I still have to finish detailing the neck as well as finalize the texture on the shoulders. I'm hoping to show the finished model perhaps in a week. We'll see.
In the meantime, other studio stuff includes continuing the work on the Robot moulds as well as doing several urethane casts for a local Toronto sculptor.
I'll be back later this week with studio updates. Take care and have a great week.

Hello again, I wanted to show a few more images of the Robot Mould  project. I'm constructing this moulds for the artist and designer Matthew Del Degan.
In the pictures, I placed plaster replicas produced from these new moulds. The mould making aspect of this project is still some weeks from completion but in the meantime it was an opportunity to show part of the process. If you want to know more about Matthew's projects check out his really cool website.

Finally, I will be back shortly with more news about my sculpture Hyper Realistic Reconstructed Sculpture #7 RM.
Take Care. Have a great weekend.
